Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information TheHobbyDesk ("TheHobbyDesk," "we," "us") collects when you use this site, and how it's used.
Information we collect
Your collection. Cards you add to "My Collection" are stored locally in your browser (via localStorage). This data is not transmitted to or stored on our servers, and it does not sync between devices or browsers. Clearing your browser data will remove it.
Search queries. When you search for a card, your query is sent from your browser to our server, which forwards it to our pricing-data provider to look up guide values. We don't log or retain these queries beyond what's needed to serve the request.
Account information. Google sign-in is active. When you choose "Continue with Google," TheHobbyDesk receives your Google account sub identifier, name, email address, and profile picture URL (picture) from the Google credential payload.
Where sign-in data is stored. Today, that Google sign-in data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage so the signed-in experience can persist on that device. It is not currently synced across devices, and it is not stored on our servers unless or until a server-side sync feature is actually added.
Automatically collected data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps for security and performance purposes.
Third-party services
TheHobbyDesk uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- PriceCharting - supplies card pricing/guide-value data.
- CardSight AI - supplies card images.
- eBay - "See last sold on eBay" links open eBay's own site in a new tab.
- Google Identity Services - provides the optional Google sign-in flow.
- Google Fonts - used to load the site's typography and icons.
- Cloudflare - hosts the site and its backend.
We don't sell your information to third parties.
Cookies & local storage
We use browser localStorage (not tracking cookies) to remember your collection, table column widths, and similar preferences on your device. We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies.
Children's privacy
TheHobbyDesk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
